Strapless recommendations

Does anyone have recommendations for a strapless or convertible bra? Since I have found this site and well fitting bras, I have neglected my need for a convertible bra. Ewa PL bras fit me well regularly.

  • I've heard Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless (I may not have the name 100% right) is one of the more projected strapless. It's the closest I've ever gotten for sure!

  • The CK luxe is projected boob armor. The wires are VERY firm, so if you have any sensitivity to that, be warned.

I have dense, projected, center heavy boobs and I've found success with the Freya longline models (I think I currently have the Wilder bustier) due to the added band support.

If you don't like longlines, I have decent success with the Cleo Neve strapless. It's a pretty shallow bra, but due to its plunge cut and firm band, it can accommodate my dense, center heavy boobs without sliding down. I get a little folding at the wire, my boobs push the top of the cups away from my chest, but the bra doesn't move and continues to lift/support.

I also have a Freya deco strapless that I sized down in the band to ensure it wouldn't shift as my boobs fought the cups. It works, but I only wear it when I absolutely need a nude strapless - it's too tight to be my go to.

A lot of people have success with the Wonderbra. I did not, - my boobs would tip it too far,and it would undermine the band support, eventually causing it to slide down.

Most strapless bras are molded. If you have projected boobs, (ESPECIALLY if you have dense/fibrous tissue) the cup will either slide down, buckle/fold out at the wire, distort at the top/edges, or lean away from the body to accommodate. Sometimes you will see multiple effects. BUT some of these may be tolerable. Leaning out at the top doesn't matter as long as the bottom/wire is supportive. Minor buckling/folding at the wire is tolerable if the bra stays in place and you remain supported. The only unacceptable effect, in my opinion, is it sliding down, because that negates the lift and support. But everyone has different tolerances.

Potential solutions based on above ideas if Luxe doesn't work for you: 1) tighter band = more uncomfortable, but less likely to move, this maintaining support. 2) plunge cups/open on top styles =more flexibility in your boob pushing out on the cup, distortions will be less noticable, more likely to fold but continue it support instead of sliding down.
