Why do big boob bloggers seem to always hate reductions?

In my world - I had at least a 21" difference between band and apex measurements. I don't know if you can find that now even, but 10 years ago, there was absolutely nothing. I was having serious medical problems that couldn't be corrected.

I find reductions the same as any plastic surgery. Frequently unneeded or for personal vanity only, but some have a medical reason. Sure, make sure you are wearing the right bra first - but if someone isn't happy in a 34GG, and has a reduction to 34DD and is happy, that's her issue. Those aren't my boobs and I don't have to live with them. Furthermore, if anyone wants dancing elephants on their chest for fun, go right ahead.

But the rampant hate ignores those who medically need a reduction. I'm at 34FF or so, it's not like I'm an A cup. But I'm no longer destroying my back, screwing up my neck, compressing nerves and blood flow which lead to 3 years of constant migraine hell.

Would a properly fitted bra have helped? Got me. But there is still no bra that works for a 21"+ cup difference. So I couldn't wear a well fitted bra, they didn't exist and I can't find one now.

I never hated my boobs. I hated the migraines. I hated wearing men's 4XL shirts to barely squeeze over my chest. I hated not being able to work, go to school, play music. But, it was never hate on the boobs.

Maybe I'm part of 5% who had a medical need. But I think it's higher, especially if you go through insurance. But still, be it 5, 25, 55 or even 0.5% - it ruins the majority of big bra blogs. Because I know I'll be told to have worn a real bra, then I'd have been fine.

  • I'm planning on blogging about this for bratabase soon, but I had a reduction and they came back. I do agree that a lot of people are vehemently against reductions without knowing all of the facts.

  • How is it that large breasts can cause migraines? I get migraines all the time, I wonder whether it is related to my boobs? But I am much smaller than you were, only 13" difference between underbust and standing bust.
