Welp, I have officially gone insane
A few weeks ago, I took the plunge and carefully dyed my 28GG - Freya » Jolie Balcony (4102) a deep, forest green. It was awesome. Inevitably, I immediately started developing urges to dye ALL the things. For two weeks, I was a good girl. I did not dye my EMs, I did not dye my slippers, I did not dye my good suit jacket, and I resisted the overwhelming urge to dye my cat.
Yesterday, I picked up a special order at my local lingerie shop - a 30G - Freya » Deco Shape Moulded Strapless Longline Bra (1462). I really wasn't expecting this bra to fit, but it stays up nicely and gives my boobs a great uplifted, round shape. However, the ivory/cream colour really wasn't doing anything for me. Spinning around in the fitting room, I started thinking of all the colours this bra would look MUCH BETTER in. I considered stopping by the sewing store on the way home, but I resisted the urge.
Once home, I tried the bra on again. Really, this is a fantastic shape. I wondered how it would look with my wedding dress. You see, I'm getting married in two weeks. I already have my dress (a fantastic green linen sundress) and a matching bra ( my 28GG - Freya » Monet Balcony Plunge (4632) has straps and detailing the EXACT colour of my dress). But the Monet's shape isn't quite perfect under the dress. Just trying on the Deco Shape with the dress can't hurt, can it?
So I did. And it looked GREAT. I twirled in front of my fiance. He agreed the shape was absolutely perfect for the dress. Except...was that a flash of cream I caught out of the corner of my eye? It was! Clearly the Deco needs to be dyed to match. Fiance told me to sleep on it - cream really isn't noticeable unless you're staring down awkwardly into my armpit.
I slept on it. Decided I would try to pin the Monet first, but buy dye *just in case*. Ran out first thing to purchase dye. Dye lasted a whole hour on my countertop before I caved in to the urge to try dyeing the Deco.
So now I have a grass-green Deco Shape. Or I would, except the center panel is made of a plasticky material that didn't take the dye. So I have a Deco with a grass green back and straps, a mottled cream centre panel, and huge, green cups tacked on. The good news? It'll be perfect under my wedding dress. The awkward corners that showed from some angles are a near-perfect colourmatch for my dress. On the other hand, the bra is mighty funny looking on it's own now, and this is a bra I paid $100 for. Whoops.
