What are the effects of having wires that are too narrow? I feel like having narrower wires would make for a much more comfortable centre gore, but what would that do to the rest of the fit??

There is a difference between narrow wires and a narrow center gore. The first refers to the width of the cup and the second to the width between the cups. If the wires are too narrow then the cup cuts into the breast tissue (usually the outside). A too narrow gore could mean the cups are in the wrong place, especially for someone wide set and with a wide root.
When I wear bras with wide wires, they are so wide that they make the gore, too wide. When I wear bras with narrow wires, the gores are narrower, but the tissue doesn't seem to stay in place, so I was wondering if that is from the wires or something else.
