Comexim question...

So, I’m moving in a few days, and as I was packing some stuff up from my nightstand recently, I came across a $100 bill...it was from savings or something that I had stashed away and had not been sure what I was gonna do with it. I’d kept it, waiting for the right thing. And then I must’ve forgotten about it. Anyway, I still in need of more bras that fit. I was thinking about getting another Comexim set, or possibly 2 bras that I can get away with basic bottoms like black or navy.

The ones that fit me best right now are my 28G - Comexim » Onyks Non-padded Half Cup Underwire Bra (CMONYK and 32E - Comexim » Megan Plunge (653) with the 65F - Ewa Michalak » Bm Crazy Bra (1174) and 65F - Ewa Michalak » Chp Antonina coming in close (both are technically too tall for me but the BM hides it more). I’m still wearing a few of the bras that are too big now...I’ve stuffed some with spare Lululemon pads to fill the space up some.

Anyway, I’m trying to decide on size and alterations based off of the data I have on the current bras, so here’s an accumulation of it in one space:

70F/32E Megan plunge...

Band (stretched): 29.5in/74.9cm
Cup depth: 8.5in/21.6cm
Cup height: 5.5in/14cm
Gore height: 2.8in/7.1cm

*band is 4 hooks and is good on the loosest hooks, cup volume is ok but feels a little shallow and I’m almost spilling, gore is ok but I would not mind a little shorter, cup height is good

60HH/28G Onyks unpadded half cup...

Band (stretched): 28.5in/72.4cm
Cup depth: 8.8in/22.4cm
Cup height: 5.3in/13.5cm
Gore height: 3in/7.6cm

*band is a little bit snug but a very stretchy material, cup height and volume seem ok, gore is ok but curious about a smidge shorter

70H Triss 3HC with alterations (straps Moved in 2cm, gore lowered by 1cm)...
Band (stretched): 29.5in/74.9cm
Cup depth: 9.3in/23.6cm
Cup height: 6in/15.2cm
Gore height: 2.5in/6.4cm

*borderline too small initially but definitely too big now, but shorter cups and gore might do the trick, gore is ok but makes it almost like a plunge shape

65F BM Crazy...

Band (stretched): 28.5in/72.4cm
Cup depth: 9in/22.9cm
Cup height: 6in/15.2cm
Gore height: 2.3in/5.7cm

*band is a little snug but doable for the day, depth is ok except cups are too tall so it’s kinda big (bottom of cups ok but top rests on the shallow upper tissue), gore is lovely

65F CHP Antonina...

Band (stretched): 28.5in/72.4cm
Cup depth: 8.9in/22.6cm
Cup height: 5.8in/14.7cm
Gore height: 2.5in/6.4cm

*band is ok, too big and tall without cookies and barely fits with cookies and more noticeable because it’s very open on top, I can probably do a cup size down

So my stretched band preference remains around 29” depending on how stretchy the band is...it was 29-30” with snug ub 28.5”and snug ub with weight loss is about 27.5”...so 28.5-29.5” is ideal, depending on the material and stretch.

Cup depth seems to be 8.5-9” depending on the shape and cup height.

Ideal cup height seems to be around 5.5”

Gore height seems to be flexible per style and seems to be ideal in 2.3-2.5” but tolerable up to 2.8”Soooo....with all this said, I’m debating whether to stick with the same size in the plunge (70F like Megan or 65G based on the band), but add depth and reduce the gore 1-1.5cm OR size up to 70G to get the extra depth, but reduce the cups and gore by 1-1.5cm. I’m not sure if it’s going to create the same proportions or not.

Conversely, with the 3HC, would I be better off with a 70G or 65H, perhaps with a touch of depth added OR a 70H with reduced cups and gore. The cup height of the 70H 3HC is 15cm, and reducing by 1cm puts it to 14cm which is about the height of the 70F Megan, and slightly taller than the Onyks, though I know that padded and unpadded half cups are not quite the same fit.

I know that reducing the gore will make the bra a little more shallow, hence adding more depth to the smaller size or starting with one that’s a little bit big to begin with.

Thoughts on this at all? I’m currently measuring 28F/FF or 30E/F UK...tissue is soft, shallow on top, fairly pendulous with a 3” or so difference.

Styles I’m currently considering and will have to narrow down:

Malachit as plunge, maybe 3HC, though it’s the most expensive one so I’m tempted to hold off on it

Clara as a 3HC

Vera as 3HC no longline (Wilderness1 ’s listing for the 65HH longline looks lovely except that the cups are a little bit tall and I don’t do longlines well..I like the look as 3HC better than plunge) though I am not too fond of the bottoms (a little too plain) so I’d want to request something different

Hot Chocolate in plunge...I sold my original one as it was always a little bit big and tall but it was huge after the weight loss and I did not think that I would gain enough weight back to fit it again. It’s moved more towards the bottom and the price is lower now which makes me worry that it might sell outlying can see the 70H - Comexim » Hot Chocolate Plunge for how it looks on me

Thanks in advance for reading all of this! I appreciate your help!

  • How cool you found hidden money! As far as band size goes, we’re pretty much the same size and have similar preferences with stretched band comfort. I’d say 30/65 band would be your best bet, providing the band on the actual bra isn’t super stretchy like Onyks. Out of your narrowed down list, what do you feel you’d be more likely to reach for on a daily basis? Also the tough thing with Comexim seems to be people ask for alterations and don’t get them. Also something to consider so if they aren’t done you’re not out a ton of money if it doesn’t fit.
I also want to say, good luck with your move! Moving stink, let alone having to move when it wasn’t your choice to start. I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

  • I agree sticking with a 65 band is your best bet. In my experience with Comexim and making/altering bras, you lose cup volume when you lower the gore, reduce cup height, or move in the straps. Lowering the gore and adding depth at the wire has been a great alteration for me. I keep the same band and cup size for that. I do get a much lower gore though, I need it to be 2.4 inches or less. I have a plunge with a lowered gore and reduced cups and it's a little too small so I would order one cup up if I ordered the same alterations again and stick with the same band size. I have gotten almost all of the alterations I've asked for in my last couple orders.
