Feeling foolish in my S and SM bras :-(

Ready for my latest pity party? LOL

Okay, first off, I LOVE my Ewa Michalak PL bras. And now they are not making them in 36JJ. I have 2 and love them both. I WANT MORE. Maybe they'll do a special order, but frankly the pain (and expense) of doing a special order makes me hesitate. Also, I never know if it'll fit tight or loose in the band and/or cup since sizing is so different with each style.

So, I gave the S Porcelanka a try. The top edge of the cup is higher and I like that. The S Porcelanka, although a very nice shape, has higher wires on the side and they are just high enough that when I put my arms down, it actually pushes the cups down in the front. Goodbye support. I can hold my arms out and jump up and down and the cups move down maybe 1/2 inch. I put my arms down and they move another 1/2 inch. Jump with them down and they're 2 inches below where they should be. Yikes. Tighten the straps you say? Well, yeah, they're as tight as they can go AND I have safety pins shortening them 2-1/2 to 3 inches more (debating on the alteration as to whether I want to keep the bra). They're cutting off my arms. Not painful, but they're definitely felt and slightly restrictive when putting my arms forward. (Did I hear Ewa groan just now?) Well, I definitely don't need a bigger band and a smaller cup size is not going to work. I tried the pads from my other bras in this one to see if I could try a smaller cup size and I'm quad-boobing, so a size down will do the same. >:-| The straps on the PLs are about the same, actually, and I can live with that because the wires are not so high they force the cups down.

And then I tried the SM. For some reason, on the SM, my nipples are WAY off from the apex. The apex of each cup is at the first seam, which is very close to the center of the bra. My nipples are 2 inches from there. Maybe no one notices, but *I*do. I feel like it looks bizarre. Apex too far center and nipples pointing out like they're lazy-eyed. LOL Then the cup has an awkward flat area that makes a sort of in-cup quadboob that isn't even at a seam. I can't even figure out how it happens or how to get rid of it. I'm just really disappointed in the fit I get in the SM. I've tried Trefl and Bezyk. Bezyk is the worst with this, but Trefl is an odd fit, too. Trefl seems to have a tiny bit more stretch, so that may be the difference.

I'm just really disappointed and wondering what I'm going to do when the 2 PLs I have give out on me. I have not found any other bras that are even wearable and I feel like I've tried them all. Panache, Fantasie, Freya, Curvy Kate, Bravissimo, Cleo. I need incredibly narrow wires and lots of projection. EM bras came closest. Even those are at least an inch too wide on the sides. What gives? Am I really that far from the range of normal root width to volume ratio that no one makes a bra to fit me?

Sorry for the incredibly long rant, but you ladies are the only women I know who understand that I don't (and shouldn't) fit into a Victoria's Secret 38DD.

  • If Ewa Michalak is still a bit wide for you in the wires, maybe try Comexim

  • Unfortunately, Comexim doesn't go up to my cup size. :-(
