No matter what I try, the side of the cup touched my armpit and it hurts (34G). If I were to try 1 or 2 band sizes down (and larger cup too), with an extender, technically the cup should sit more to the front and therefore not end up touching my armpit. Worth a try?
(I have a hilariously short torso which causes the issue)
Another issue: straps are way too far apart. Every Freya bra I tried has the straps at the very edges of my shoulders. this would probably get worse if I try the above, don't you think?
If you have any suggestions or tips that would be great. I've been recommended to try custom Comexim but I do not have the budget to take that risk.

Hmm, alright, tricky because we're in somewhat different size ranges, but I'm also part of the ultra short torso club and know EXACTLY what you mean. Luckily, I've got a pretty high tolerance for firm wires and such. A few scattered tips I have is that, one, Ewa Michalaks tend to be the least egregious offenders in my experience and, two, sometimes bras with super wide wires (like some Freyas like you're saying, the Offbeat comes to mind for me here) squeak past on this because even though they've got super high sides it's really just fabric all up in your business since the wire is past your armpit (or at least MY armpit in my size range).
Other things to say: re: straps being too wide--maybe get a bra strap clip for the back of your bras? Make them all racerbacks? Then you could see if you can make any work in your actual size with that bit of help. Otherwise, I don't think it's a horrible idea to try smaller bands with extenders. We do whatever works, and bra fitting is all about what's most comfortable for us, right? It does just sound like a bit of a hassle though. Also, don't know how short your torso is or how short you are, but I will say that I'm 5'1/155cm, and bra manufacturers still make 30s and 28s too tall in the sides for me!
I'm about 5'4''/164cm and my torso is roughly 19''/48cm from top of shoulder to hips (or about 12.5''/32cm from armpit to hips), my breast base height is 9''/23cm. I've figured out that halfcups/balconet styles are best when it comes to the cup edge/armpit issue however the gores are too high for those. I've figured out I need a gore with max height of 6 cm and a cup of max 18.5 cm.
The razerback thing is tricky because I'm really squishy so then the straps/cup gets pulled into the tail of spence and then that is painful.
An issue I have with Freya is that they're too shallow. Or atleast, the bottom of the cup is wrinkling and I can fit about a finger width between the wire and where my breast tissue starts.
