Is the breast root where the breast attaches to the rib cage? Is it possible to have a narrow root and a wide top part of the breast? My breasts are fairly wide at the top but when I have tried to locate my root, it doesn't seem to be terribly wide yet @Elomi and @Fantasie bras fit me very well.

  • Absolutely, this is called omega shaped breasts. Some bras that fit this shape include Masquerade Persia (6581) , Comexim , and Best Form Sophia (772) .

  • Jillsas - Isn't Omega when the root itself is narrower and then the breast gets wider beyond the root? (I'm thinking of Herroom's description, rude as it was.) I think that Code_Red is describing is something I've mentioned in some of my discussions with Branarchist, which is the root being narrow near the intermammary fold, and wider at the top.

This is my shape. I have a fairly narrow root at the bottom and a lot of projection. The top of my breast, however, is - for lack of a better description - smeared all over my chest. It goes up to my collarbones and into my armpits. If I do a leaning test, I look balanced: there's about an equal amount of tissue on the top as on the bottom, it's just spread over a wider area. I tend to fit best n FoB styles. (The height of my breast tissue is really only an issue in a sports bra, when I can't get all the upper breast tissue in - with a regular bra I don't mind it being outside the bra.) Wire width is tricky for me. I usually go with wider wires, which hit me at the right point in the armpit, but which are several centimeters off from my root on the bottom. I can easily see from the red marks that they are too wide at the bottom, but I know that narrower wires sit on breast tissue higher up because it hurts. I'm thinking of trying Comexim because they have narrow but short wires.
