A few days ago, I was desperately searching Nordstrom Rack for some 36GGs. My old Elomi no longer fit: I was quadboobing intensely and the band was riding up on the tightest hooks. No luck.
Wandering around Union Square to find my bf while my cell was dying, I ran across Journelle. Tucked under some scaffolding just streets off the square, it was cool, calm, and serene. I felt a little out of place, dripping rain in the gorgeous showroom, but the associates were friendly and sweet. They didn't bat an eye when I requested a 36GG or 36H.
We chatted about seams and 3part cups while she pulled several different styles for me. I was ushered back to the lush fitting rooms and offered bottled water and specialty chocolates. My room looked like it belonged at a spa rather than a fitting room. A soft bench, great lighting, a dresser, and a cushy bathrobe.
After many tries, I explained that I felt like the gore and band weren't quite sitting right. She took a look and recommended we try a 34. THIRTYFOUR? I haven't even looked at one of those since 8th grade. BAM. Suddenly the bands felt supportive - like they were actually doing 80% of the work.
Unfortunately, in the 1 bra I liked - a Chantelle 3 pt cup, surprisingly - they didn't carry a 34HH. I bought the 36H which looked a lot better, but my bra-senses were tingling so I asked about the return policy. Glad I did. I wore the bra around my apartment for about 30mins, but it just doesn't work. The fit looks fantastic, but the underwire keeps dropping to just below my inframammary fold. I was constantly adjusting. Sadly, it is going back.
However, I HIGHLY recommend Journelle at Union Square to anyone else in or visiting NYC. Fantastic staff, decent selection, range of prices ($45-98 for the ones I tried), gorgeous store!

Chantelle only goes up to UK FF cups. If you needed a cup size larger, you would have gotten a 34G not a 34HH (just for future reference). They use Euro sizing.
