Silicone strap pads - if loving you is wrong, I don't wanna be right

Have you tried them?
Now, I've had them for a while now, but I've stopped using them when I quit wearing 34 bands to 30's - the tighter band meant less strain on my shoulders.
However, my Boudoir Beau (have to update the review) made me pull them out again. The straps currled up in some horrific 15th century torture device, I almost ripped the bra off and burned it at stake on my office desk - that's how much it hurt me.
The pads made the bra wearable again. Today I wore cleo alexa to work - even though I have no strap issues there, I wore the pads again.
No strain on my shoulders and they actually keep the whole bra in place! THe straps don't move or slip while I roll on my pilates ball and it seems to affect the whole bra fit.
So - Yay!
Is there any downside to this? I don't see it :)

p.s. I realize now this looks like a paid commertial, I know :D Get yours even though there is no knife set in it :D

  • I haven't used silicone pads, but I did notice that my Panache Tango Balconnette has a layer of padding under the strap. I thought it was strange because straps are not meant to bear much weight, but they do stay on my shoulders more confidently than my satin-y straps. It could just be how the bra is built, but I can't reject the possibility that the fabric stays put better. Now I kind of want to put a ribbon of silicone putty at strategic locations on my slipping straps.

  • I would say that the main disadvantage is that it many time hides other fitting problems. For those not in a well-fitting bra adding something like this might make them think that it's the construction of the straps that's the main problem, not the size. :(

But apart from that I don't see any problems. I love padded straps, they make everything so much more comfortable. (At a larger size even the 10-20% the straps are supposed to carry is quite a lot of weight distributed on a very small area).
