Hi!!! New to Bratabase and all that. I first became aware of issues with bra fitting about two years ago, and I thought I had found the solution to all my bra problems when I found out that 34B was not in fact my size. I got fitted at Marks and Spencer and they put me into a 34C which was a huge improvement, although I still found that the bra bad rode up and did not support my breasts.

Then I thought I had solved everything when I started wearing 32Ds; much better fit, much more comfortable, even though it felt so ridiculous to be wearing a D cup at all. My best fitting bra at that time was a Victoria's Secret 32DDbra which I wore until the wires broke through the canals and started digging into my breasts. That's when I had to start looking for bras again.

I love bras and I love cute designs but I find bra shopping to be an immensely frustrating experience. This time I was lucky enough to be spending a few days in London, so I went to Bravissimo which I had read was very good for bra fittings. I went in and asked for a 32D and they took one look at me and asked whether I had been fitted. According to Bravissimo I am a 28E/F. I am struggling, frankly, to come to terms with this.

I bought two bras from Bravissimo, a Cleo Juna (28F) and a Freya Deco Strapless (28E). Both had fit like a glove in the changing room and I was so happy. But when I wore it for longer than about an hour, the Juna really started digging in between my breasts. I had to return it and the ladies at Bravissimo fitted me into a Panache Porcelain short which I like the fit of, except for the fact that the straps are too wide on me and I could use with the gore being narrower.

Ideally, I would like a bra with short cups I could wear with the round-neck lower cut tops I favor, with short, narrow straps that fit my small frame, and cups which are closer together in the band. It can't possibly be too much to ask for, right?

  • Mimi Holliday makes shorter cups. It's very expensive though.

  • Thanks, Jillsas! How do their bras fit otherwise?
