Strap Placement

I'm really tired but wanted to write this out before I forget,so if anything doesn't make sense, that is why.
(And you can always ask.haha)
After reading many stories and seeing how placement of straps affect the fit of my own bras,I've had an idea for a bra design.
It's not completely original as I mostly got it from a Marks and Spencers silk bridal convertible bra,but as the slits in silk for straps are sure to give way after a while, especially with heavy boobs,it would take some modifying to make it work and be durable. When I first got the bra,I was like...great...straps are too far over going almost into my armpits again.Funny how I have this issue even though I usually need medium to wider wires and my shoulders are not small!I can only imagine how difficult it is for petite women or those who need big cups with narrow wires and small bands and the bras are not graded right. But then I noticed...all around the top of the cup were slits to put the straps.I was able to put it in a few and see which gave me the best fit.And boy,did it affect the fit!
I am not sure how many other strapless or convertible bras do this, but it got me thinking,if there was a way to have at least 3 bra strap placement slots that were sturdy and secure in several different shapes and styles of bras,I bet this would help solve a lot of bra issues for many women.
I have a rough idea of how I could add this element when I make my own bra,but would need to streamline it...will be interesting to see how it turns out.One of my bras is on it's way to heaven and once it gets there I plan on taking the wires out and reusing them as they are perfect for me.

  • Triumph has (had?) this on some of their bras as well; two options to hook the straps on the front of the cup.
I had never seen that design before then and was equally thrilled with the whole idea of it. More brands really should have their adjustable bras use this design.

  • I know the Freya Deco Shape Moulded Strapless Longline Bra (1462) has the option of different strap placement and it made such a difference in terms of fit and comfort for me. So now all my bras that have removable straps I sowed a little piece of fabric on it so I can move the straps inwards for myself :)
