J'aime Fauve.

So I received my fourth Fauve bra, Fauve Chloe Balcony Bra (0312) in 30FF. I think Fauve sizing is consistent, all my Fauve bras are 30FF and I have always bought them without reading/searching many reviews, and still they would fit me nicely (although I really don't like their true to size 30-band. Fauve needs to start churning out 28-band already, c'mon).

Chloe is a perfect fit on my FoT boobs. The shape is pointy perky, which I like other than the round shape Cleo gives. The wire width also is good on my relatively narrow boobs. Straps are 90% adjustable. The other 10% is an embroidery where the strap meets the cup. It's so gorgeous. I have no regret spending GBP40 for this bra. Thanks amy__rebecca for always buying bras and ship them to me. Sloppy wet kisses for you and all. :D

The only downside to this bra is, IT'S NOT COMPLETELY SHEER D:

If you know me by now, you know I love me sheer bras. They have the sheer version with the vertical seams, but it only goes up to F-cup. :( Starting from FF it became a balcony with the lower half of the bra having a double layer. Booo.

Now my question is. Can I cut the inner layer so that it would turn a completely sheer bra? Would it mess up the fit? Would the support lessens? Would it somehow crumble and become an upside down seven shape like CK? I think BIHAL or some other blogger did that, and she said it doesn't really affect the fit. Anyone else have done this before? DO I REALLY WANT TO TAKE A RISK AND MODIFY MY 40 POUND BRA AND PROBABLY BE A DISASTER?

  • This is the BIHAL post you mean? http://brasihate.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/do-you-want-sheer-bra-up-to-k-cup.html

And I did try it on an old padded bra, I literally cut the foam padding out and left the lace overlay. It was fiddly, and a bit looked weird at the bottom (I imagine it would be fine if it was just lined not padded... I'm just an idiot)

  • Haha yes, I actually googled it right after I posted this entry :P

Ahh man that sucks. Come to think about it, I DID try cutting out a padded bra once. It was that M&S Signature line bra with Swiss lace or something. It was at the beginning of my proper fit bra journey.

    The bra was a 30DD.

I really wanted to make the bra work on my 28G boobalas. Haha.
