On being modest when choosing a bra.
At first, to clear it up, I don't really have a body issue.
It appears that my boobs are too difficult for me to stomach to match a good pair of bra with. Widey wide rooted, full on bottom, bit heavy, shallow, tear shaped. Oh, and 26-28". I think that they are pretty when naked, but they do look saggy and sad in most underwear I've ever tried in my life. This far I've found only one truly fitting model (in which I've also felt completely comfortable in) for myself, Panache Porcelain Moulded T-shirt Bra (3376), which I do own in black and brown. I am also really tempted on buying the third one, but doesn't that feel a bit odd. Yes, it's a good everyday bra and I'd like to have more on rotation, and even that I adore the sleek simplicity of Porcelain, the lack of variety still bothers me. I really do not have use for a beige one, and two blacks feels unreasonable.
As I've had to sell or return all other bras I've sold blindly over the internet, I am happy to have this one good model, but it is also tiresome to always come back at only for it.
Still, I do not have use for pretties, nor do I like sweet colors or flower patterns. I am a minimalist, a tomboy. Also having been a single for past few years and not having had situations in which anyone would've been interested in my underwear makes my thought of wanting to have anything of variety a little vain.
Just now I am having few Bravissimo models on my mind, but paying 30+ on anything that's basically too wild in means of colour and patterns for my liking, just for being kept beneath all other fabrics, feels silly. I am not a person who'd enjoy such as "luxury for myself", they could as well make me feel uncomfortable and awkward. If they only even made marine blue or green Porcelain, it didn't feel like I was buying a dupes again.
I'm not particularly hoping a fitting help right now, I just feel like venting a bit. I'm glad to have Bratabase to have a place to publish these thoughts. As I've understood, many of you enjoy getting lots of fancy lingerie, and I believe that's a great thing to do. For now I'll just have to keep my hobbies on other fields on interests.

I know what you mean. I always bought bras in Kohls. Though ive crossed over to the other side though in the face that im looking at cost per wear and quality over quantity. I dont have a lot of clothes or bras. Ok. My sister says i have a lot of bras. I have seven and two more in thr mail BUT most of them ive bought off bratabase or braswap so havent paid full price.
Im also kind of single. My hisband and i live on different contine.ts and im perfectly happy that way as we dont get on very well. The only person who sees my bras and boobs is my daughter whos still nursing.
I definitely think youve hit the nail on the head by finding something that works and stcking with it.
I definitely understand where you're coming from. I don't enjoy shopping or following fashion trends and have always been a tomboy too. On the other hand, I do like feeling confident and comfortable. Finding little things that make me happy in my everyday routine is important to me. Also, it is important to separate your personality from your style. I've never been a girly girl, but sometimes a cheesy floral pattern just makes me happy. Most of the time dressing like a woman feels like dressing up for Halloween. If you feel like something is missing, keep an eye out for styles and patterns that brighten your mood. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone style-wise, you might surprise yourself and find something that works well for you.
