Oh, Gore... close-set problemsDec 02, 2013

Today I finally figured out why it's especially difficult for me to create cleavage with my new better-fitting bras. Not only am I shallow on top, fuller on the sides and empty in the middle, I also have -incredibly- close-set breasts (which I just noticed today)! While I'm mostly ecstatic and elated in my new 30F Freya Patsy Demi-Cup, I feel some mild discomfort every half hour or so where the gore lies on my chest. Don't get me wrong, it does lie flat of my chest but also on a tiny bit of my boobs. You see, my breasts are actually so close-set that they are touching (yet still shallow, sigh ...), which makes it sooo awkward to have any sort of gore between my breasts. Will I have to make alterations to all my bras or will I be condemned to plunge bras for the rest of eternity? I already steer myself away from most Panache bras but ugh that idea is just so daunting

  • I am very close set but shallow at the same time, with a broad breast root... At first I tried to alter center gores of my half cup bras, the confort was better, but still not perfect.
Plunge bras don't work because the gore is still too wide, top of underwires dig into the bottom of my breasts at the center + underwires too narrow, cups too deep and closed on top for my shape.

The better solution for me is polish bras, at least Ewa Michalak and Only her, I havn't tried other brands... They construct their center gore with underwires on each other, not side to side. I mostly wear polish bras because of the confort the narrow center gore offers ! I still have 2 british bras altered in the center that I wear times to times, because I like their very fun and colorfull designs, but the center gore squish the center of my breasts and it is not confortable for a long day.

  • It's funny how people think of Panache as the wide gore brand when I find that Freya is so much wider. A lot of Cleo's stuff is on the narrower side (gore wise).
