Eeeep. Did I just cut the inner layer of my bra?
I have always wanted to make a non-sheer bra into a sheer bra by cutting the inner layer. There are a few things that held me back:
1) What if the fit got all wonky?
2) What if the support is not as good?
3) What if I accidentally cut out the outer layer as well?!
4) Would it really work?
5) What if the shape changes?!
I did this to my newly arrived Cleo Lucy (5851). I actually grew out of this bra many months ago, the top cuts in, I became more FoT, so I gave it to my newly bravengelised friend. Then since a few weeks ago I started to wonder, maybe I can fit into it again? So I ordered a new one.
Hey, I actually fit into it again! I still have quadboobs if I really pull back my shoulders, but other than that, it fits! (When I grew out, I quadboobed even when I was standing straight)
So, back to the topic. I just cut off the inner layer very carefully using a pair of paper scissors since I don't own a pair of nail scissors. There's no turning back now.
...........And it was a success! The fit is still the same. The support is still the same. The shape is still rounded. It made the cup 1mm deeper, if that's logical, so I don't get quadboobs as much as before if I pull my shoulders back. Aaaaaand now I have a totally sheer Lucy!
I did accidentally cut a hole of the outer layer, though. Eek. Just a tiny bit. I patched it up by gluing the inner layer onto it. Below and on top of the hole. All good, all good.
So now I think I'm gonna cut my 30FF Fauve Chloe Balcony Bra (0312) because Fauve sucks and refuses to make sheer vertical seam bra above F-cup. Boo.
Happy New Year, everyone!
ETA: Aaaaaaaaaaand now I have a sheer 30FF Fauve Chloe. Waddup!
