Replacing underwires

Today I finally decided to try and replace the painful underwires of my EM plunges in 60GG with the underwires of the EM 60G plunges.

For a while it had become really painful wearing the 60GG bras with their original underwires, to the point where chafing and extremely red marks were leaving new scars and I'd rather go without a bra than with one (which I usually find quite uncomfortable to begin with, and would still only do inside the house). When I first received the bras I already tried bending the underwires, but this wouldn't help. I was afraid to ruin both bras by trying to alter them, but I couldn't get myself to wearing the painful ones anymore, nor to wearing the ones that don't hurt but are too small.

I am happy to report that the alteration went well :) Apart from having two sad-looking 60G underwire-free bras, I can wear the 60GG ones without pain! The difference between the underwires was just their sturdiness. The 60G ones are significantly thinner, which probably makes them more flexible. In length they were comparable.

  • I find my EM wires to be some of the most comfy, but it's for a G cup and with the CH style...do you know if it's different with the plunges?

  • SparkleDarkles I cannot wear the CH's myself, so unfortunately I can't compare the two styles.. All I know from my experience with their plunges is that up until a G cup, in band size 60, the underwires were hardly noticeable during wear. In the plunges I tried cups F-FF-G-GG. Although, I do remember that the underwires of a 65G were just as sturdy as those of a 60GG, so maybe the underwires could be aligned according to the size matrix as well.
