I made a chart thing . . . I find it useful, maybe others will too
I understand the concept of sister sizes and how cups are relative to bands, and all of that well.
However I am always having trouble wrapping my brain around the moving around required to figure out sizing changes, comparison, etc. when it comes time to actually put it in practice.
So. I made a chart!
I created a made up thing: Volume# based on the idea that, theoretically, sister sizes should have approximately the same volume in the cup, and that, in fact, the cup volume (usually made by different combinations of wire width and cup depth for different brands) is really what a *size* is about. (Now, obviously some brands and styles run bigger or smaller, so things will never be totally consistent, but I think this chart will help figuring all that out too.)
The first row of the chart is the V# system I made up. If you don't like it, or find it confusing, just ignore the top row of the chart.
The main part of the chart has a huge grid of sizes. I've included lots of sizes that I don't think anyone actually makes, but I wanted it to cover more than the bra companies do. I included 26-50/55-115 bands (with both UK/US and EU sizing numbers listed) and A-NN cups, UK sizing.
It should be very easy to expand to more sizes, too. (Please let me know if I've made any mistakes with the sizing systems!)
The basic key point here is that any given column (V#) is one set of sister sizes. So it's easy to move around the chart figuring out things like:
"This bra is too tight in the band, but also too big in the cup. What size do I try instead?" Well, go down one row for a bigger band, and left one row for a smaller cup.
"I want to try a bra from EM but the size I think I need has none in stock and I want to be able to return it." Well, see if anything a row up, or a row or two down, in the same column (V#) has something in stock and order that to see how the cups fit.
Etc.
I find this chart extremely useful, I hope you will too!
It's uploaded to a sharing site, and you should be able to just see it, no login or anything required
