Braboratory-New measures for better boob understanding
So let us start with basics
Underbust - tightest to loosest in cm: 72-77
Overbust in jasmine 30j exhale inhale: 103-105
Overbust without a bra standing straight: l07
Overbust without a bra bending forward: 111
Overbust without a bra laying flat on the back: 107
Breast perimeter: 37-38
Now, what do these measures tell us? They do infact put me somwhere between 28j and 32jbut they dont tell us a lot about the kind of construction of the bra/cup I would need.
All of you who used Mik&Honeys depth/width calculator and found out how to measure their root got a little wiser
http://www.bratabase.com/profile/353/adventures/302/
it prooved me right: with 0.94 width and 1.33 depth ratio I have an average to narrow root and very deep breasts.
This means I will need narrow wires amd deep cups. Right.
But how come I get empty space at the bottom of the cup in almost every bra I own except a couple of much too small 32gg's? Let's take this a step further. New measures:
Laying flat on the back - bottom crease to nipple: 13 cm
Same thing standing straight - 14 cm
Laying flat on the back straight below the collarbone (thats where my breast tissue starts) to nipple: 18 cm
Same thing standing straight - 22 cm
Now this explains why smaller sizes work best for me in the lower part of the cups - this is why cleo lizzie in 32gg is ideal with her 15 cm verical seam! This is also why andorra 30j with its 13.5 vertical seam doesnt work for me. This is also why I get empty fabric on panache jasmine 30j and cleo alexa 28j with their 17 cm vertical seam!
So, basically, this comfirms that I am full on top and that I need bottom cups size 30gg or 30h and a lot of room on top, equivalent of a 30jj or 30K. This is also why i get the lift I need in 32gg but with a major quadboob, pictureproof

The coverage and room in the uppercup I need I can only get in 30Jj and K.
In other words, I'm screwed until I start designin my own line of bras But at least I now know why Im screwed and what to do
Happy measuring everyone!

If you are typical--and I suspect you are--we will all fit somewhere between styles/sizes. Which bring me back to something I said earlier which is: we must be willing to make minor alterations.
I went clothes shopping with my very overweight sister this weekend. She refuses to consider alterations and believes that if a garment is close but not perfect, there is something wrong with her and she walks away. I can't convince her otherwise. Plus I think she thinks alterations are very expensive, but the simple ones are not.
I made the same measurements (my breast don't start anywhere near my collarbones btw) and I guess I'm full on bottom then. Width/depth ratios were close to 1. Most of my bras right now tend to shift when I wear them, leaving empty space in the bottom of the cup and getting quadraboob on the top. My boobs try to escape the cups, because the lowest part of the cup is too shallow! I guess my cups need to be more like a true hemisphere, not paraboloid/torpedo shaped. And open on top maybe to avoid wrinkling/emptiness there?
