Ewa Michalak - will it fit?

I'm debating about whether I should try Ewa Michalak .

Looking at the measurements on Bratabase, all the cup sizes look like they'll be too big for me. I've put together a spreadsheet of measured cup width & depth of a few of my bras that fit or don't fit. When I multiply width x depth, cups that come out around the low 140's are generally in the right ballpark, with anything over 145 starting to get a little on the big side. Also, cup widths larger than 11 are usually too big.

I did the same width x depth calcs on other Bratabase users' measurements of 60B and 65A EM bras, and they end up coming out at over 200, which sounds like it will be waaaay too big for me. Also, the cup widths are between 15 and 18, which also sounds way too big.

I do understand that EM styles are usually quite different in fit to other manufacturers, but I don't know if it's even worth me bothering to try, based on this.

The measured band lengths all look ok for me.

I usually take roughly a 28B. The EM website shows a few bras available in their smallest off-the-shelf size of 65A - 3D, 3DM, PL, CHP and KM. Can anyone suggest which of these styles work best on wide-set, full-on-bottom boobs?

Do you think it's even worth me bothering to try?

  • 3D and 3DM have been especially designed for the smaller chested amongst us. I haven't tried these myself (my breasts are not great fans of those plunging gores), so I can't comment on the fit, but they could definitely be worth a shot.

PL works for many (it didn't for me, but that hardly is a reliable indicator), CHP is allegedly a cross between the old CH and HP halfcup styles (but I found the cups immensely tall and the gore way too low -- really, it becomes PL-like low in the smaller sizes), and KM is a nursing bra -- maybe not exactly what you're looking for ;)

What size does the EM calculator give you? It is definitely not the most reliable of calculators, but it does work for some. For what it's worth, it doesn't seem too far off for me (although there are other reasons EM bras and I haven't really managed to get along properly) -- I measure 28", usually take a 30 band, but in EM 70 is more comfortable, for example.

  • Well, the EM calculator says 65B, but I don't know if I'm measuring myself right, as I don't know how tight the tape should be when measuring around the fullest part. The 65B is with a fairly loose-ish tape.
I get a difference of about 8cm between a loose and tight tape, which makes the difference between 65AA and 65C.
