"Half-sizes"?
Can you well-informed individuals confirm something for me? The double letters in UK sizes are /not/ half sizes, are they? I've had fitters in both Linda's and Town Shop in new York bringing me the same cup sizes in Chantelle and say Cleo, and when I protested they said that US and UK sizing were the same. When I pressed the one at Linda's on it, she said that the double letters in UK brands were just half sizes. This is just wrong.... right?

Uh, yeah, that's a load of rot!
There is nothing called half cup sizes. Nothing. Some people are using this as an excuse, but it isn't true. The difference between a E-cup and a F-cup is just as big as between a F-cup and a FF-cup. However, there is no US-standard, which causes trouble with translating sizes.
I've seen one or two companies doing half sizes, but then it was B½, C½ etc, and that was about "enabling you to get the perfect fit". That is true half sizes.
