Plunge/Push-up bras in 38HH+

It’s been about a month since I started working towards figuring out my true size and replacing all my Cacique bras that are just way too small in the cup. I have to say that I have found some great, supportive, and even pretty bras that fit me so much better than the bras I’ve been wearing for at least 10 years.

However, everything has a higher gore than I am used to. Even Ewa Michalak’s PL styles have at least 4" gores (in my size range).

Do any other bra makers make deep plunges in my size? Ideally this would be a 40H/HH, but I could probably work with something in a 38 band. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

  • Can you give an ideal gore height or an example of a bra that you would consider a deep plunge (even if it's not a model that currently exists in your size)?

There are definitely some true plunges (I'm thinking of the Chantelle C Chic Sexy Plunge for example) in your size range, but I rarely see them worn by women with very projected boobs (like me) or larger and heavier breasts because beyond a certain volume or projection, if the gore does not come high enough, the breasts tend to just fall out of the cups into the middle, which doesn't result in the most stable feeling.

If you are looking for something to work with a particular low cut outfit I recommend bustier or longline styles (they sell a lot of them for bridal and formalwear) which provide the stability and support from underneath, allowing for a deeper neckline.

  • Thanks for your response, wendybien . I have a few Cacique plunges that are more or less still wearable, and they give me crazy cleavage in low necklines (which my partner appreciates on date night). While I technically “can” still wear them, I’d be more comfortable in something closer to my true band/cup size. The styles I’m referring to are Cacique Passion Lace Plunge Bra (92188) and Cacique Sateen Push-up Plunge Bra (75060)

The “plungiest” styles I’ve found so far in other brands are 40HH - Elomi » Betty Plunge Bra (8170) and 40HH - Curvy Kate » Daily Boost (CK1801) … but both have center gores that are more like what I am used to as everyday non-plunge styles.

(Side note: I’m thinking I must have a relatively “short” root if that makes sense, because most non-plunge styles have gores that rise very high on my sternum. Some bras that fall into this category are my 42GG - Panache » Tango Ii Balconette (3251) , 42GG - Elomi » Caitlyn Underwire Side Support (8030) , and to some extent my 42H - Goddess » Rose Banded Underwire (6080) .)

I will definitely have a look at the Chantelle C Chic Sexy Plunge (3641) and see if it works for me. Thanks :)
