life is unfair. or: how my boobs make me want to strangle someone.

just a long rambling rant because I'm getting super frustrated by *everything*! its one of those days. just imagine me flailing around and yelling "ARRGHH" a bunch and you get this gist of this.

i took a chance and ordered the cutest bra (the non padded Chloe Spot in lemon/white) during the figleaves sale because it was fairly inexpensive, and also its white and yellow polka dot mesh. cmon. that is my bra style right there. i know that balconettes aren't recommended for my shape, and usually don't work, but as this was a mesh bra i thought, hey, maybe its the stretchy kind? the claudette bra i had forever ago was mesh, and i only noticed a *hint* of cutting in, and for a bra this cute i can deal with it. the width looks wonderfully narrow (for once) and the band seems like it will be right, and YELLOW POLKA DOTS. eh hem.

so, i finally get this gorgeous bra in the mail yesterday, fling off all my clothes in my desperation to try it, and OF COURSE it doesn't fit. oooofff courseeeeee. the bottom half of the cup is all awesome uplifted roundness, and the top half/inner half is all empty space and cutting in. part of me knows i did this to myself, but the other part of me is screaming WHY DO YOU HATE ME BOOBS. WHY.

finding something that works for my shape is making me nuts! i'm tall rooted, definitely have more projection than most shallow bras allow but not much upper volume (so large shallow i guess), need wires near the 5.5inch width, and either a loose 32 or a tight 34 band, and straps that aren't so far in my pits that they screw the cup fit up. everyone is all about suggesting half cups, which would be fine if i could find one that wasnt too wide! every half cup ive tried in my actual size has been too wide in both wire width and strap separation. its either got wires that are 6 inches wide, or straps that cut my arms off. (as a side note- im going to try learning how to alter straps, and hand sew so its sturdy/doesn't fuck the bra up, but right now i more need to rant and whine about how awful life is so let's pretend moving them inst an option for now :P)

i thought i had it pinned down with the 32FF - Freya » Marvel Side Panel Bra (1501), but I'm noticing when i wear it that the strap width screws with the cup fit and makes them gape (like usual) and its probably too shallow, as it scoots down a bit. i can deal with the shallow, but the straps make it basically unwearable from discomfort. the wire width isnt something ive had time to notice because i havent worn it out (because straps), but i know theyre a bit too wide, so im looking forward to that fun.

and then, we have the Juna and her sister cuts, which i though were going to finally be the holy grail. but upon further wearing of the 32FF - Cleo » Rihanna (6621) and testing of the Juna i just got in from ebay (which fits differently. OF COURSE IT DOES), im realizing they also have the problem of being too wide strapped. and they just all around aren't very comfortable bras to wear for me. molded annoys me with how it cant fit to my shape, and decides to gape instead.

furthermore, i'd live to give a big up yours to brands who change their bra structure in smaller sizes. every time i see someone mention polish bras, i look up the model in a 32FF/34F equivalent, and suddenly they go from narrow to 6inch width. NO. STOP IT BRAS. BE NARROW ALL THE TIME. if there is some holy grail bra with all the features i need, please. someone throw it at me. and if this isnt long enough, id also love if all the wonderful websites that offer free returns and shipping would start carrying something that could fit me, thatd be swell.

if you've made it this far, thanks for letting me vent :) if i had a cookie i'd give it to you, but right now all i have is bra rage!:D

  • Oh, I had a feeling this was you as soon as I saw the disappointment with the Freya Marvel. I'm so so sorry that didn't work out after all. :(

"...fling off all my clothes..." made me smile. Yes, that's me, too, when getting a new bra.

I wish I had a more intelligent suggestion for you, but 6" width in 32FFish sizes seems narrow to me. Whichever Polish bras were still too wide, do you have the means and patience to try the other brand(s)?

Erica's review of Comexim is encouraging for narrow rooted. She definitely has more projection than upper fullness, despite a fairly recent increase in upper fullness. I don't know if she has tall roots, though.

Have you tried Kris Line or Avocado? I'm assuming Ewa's wires were still too wide.

Good luck in the hunt, if you can bear continuing with it. That was a very entertaining rant!

  • Oh, I hear you! Every time I look at bras on Amazon I get all ragey.
