June 28, 2014 - Dog chewed my Ewa Balor!

My sweet, loveable foster dog, Ellie, was caught chewing on my Ewa Balor bra. :-( While she didn't chew through an entire strap, that strap IS partially ripped. Is this fixable? The bra doesn't even fit me, so I was planning to sell it, but is it not worth it now? Should I just toss it? I don't know anything about repairing or altering bras.

  • Bra straps are pretty easy to replace, especially if none of the hardware is damaged and you can just replace the elastic.

If the rings/sliders are damaged you can also take the opportunity to make it into a convertible bra, and sew loops of ribbon into the bra and buy replacement straps to hook into them.

  • I wouldn't buy a bra with a strap that had been damaged and then repaired, but I would gladly buy an appropriately-priced bra with a strap that had been replaced, even if it wasn't an exact match (I mean as long as it's the same color, etc. I would not be too fussy). I took a look at this bra design and it doesn't look like they have super high tech strap attachment so you could probably try it if you can sew. Make sure it's the same width and elasticity of course.
