Sports bra confusion

So I just bought my first sports bra, a Shock Absorber Active Multi Sports (4490) in 30G. I've used it twice for a couple of hours while doing yard work. The first time it felt tight and new but good, but today my larger boob started hurting and it nearly quadboobed in the center and I had to take it off, so I'm thinking it's probably too small after all. It was also quite hot today. Could that make the boobs swell more than usual? But then again you're supposed to be hot when you're in a sports bra. I guess I will notice sooner or later how the size works, but I feel so lost in the sports bra territory and a little impatient. How should I think about this?

  • I think that if you give it a little more time to stretch and jt still hurts you shouldn't wear it. As frustrating as it is to decide yet another bra doesn't fit; it's important to have a sports bra that's comfortable and supportive.

People often swell in the heat. Once I was with a friend who tried on a dress in hot weather, and later that night it fit her more loosely than it had only hours before. Make sure you're hydrated but you may swell anyway. If you figure out that you are swelling sometimes it may not be a bad idea to get two sizes for your sports bras.

  • Thanks for the feedback! It's good to know it happens to others too.

I ended up ordering another bra in a larger size. The one I have was too small the next day as well and so were my "normal" bras. So there's some consistency and I figure that could be how it works for me in the summer, which is when I need a sports bra anyway. I always gain a size during pms, so swelling is a thing for me and I will get some use of it even if I never were to swell from the heat again.
