Girl bonding time

I've convinced my mother-in-law and sister-in-law to go bra shopping with me next Tuesday! It was Much easier than I thought I would be, they're both very sheltered ladies. I currently live in a different state so I'm hoping this will be a good bonding experience on my visit. I gave them a quick over-the-clothes measure back in April and they were pretty shocked (as most women are when they find out bras don't stop at DD). SIL is 16 and currently wearing a 36C, I put her at about a 32E, maybe a 30 depending on her squish factor. MIL didn't say what she was wearing (I'm betting a 44DD) and I can't remember exactly what I guessed her as but I think it was close to a 42F/FF (though she has lost weight since). I'm so excited to take them out. We'll be going to Intimacy for the sizing, and depending on our budgets stopping at the Nordstrom to take a look for sales. I'll report back afterwards! :)

  • I wish you good luck and fortune on your bra shopping trip!

Are they sheltered as in totally, live in a remote small town and have a very small social circle, sheltered as in don't get much if any exposure to the offerings of retail beyond the most basic size range, or sheltered they've been locked in the basement and only let out occasionally to make sure they don't tempt men or do something silly like make an independent decision for themselves? Sorry, I've been reading about fundamentalists a great deal this last week in preparation for what will be a challenging road representing a woman who is leaving that world and wants to take her kids with her in a divorce proceeding since she will definitely need support and he doesn't feel he should have to provide it to a jezebel that's leaving him and trying to steal his children.

  • Hahaha. They are in an area that doesn't have much on the way of options (and they don't know their options) but I meant sheltered when it comes to other peoples bodies. To me, boobs are no big deal. I've got them. All women have them. Men have them. But I was demonstrating how to scoop properly (wearing a full coverage bra, my bathing suit shows more skin) and MIL let out an "oh my!" And SIL turned around and covered her eyes when I lifted up my shirt to show them how. I don't understand how you can go through high school gym class, swim lessons, sports teams, and just being a female in general and still be weirded out by boobs.
