Sensitive Skin
I'm curious to see if anyone else has this issue, so I thought I'd ask. I have extremely sensitive skin (allergic to bleach, parabens, perfume, aluminum, bird dander, most chemicals, latex, etc.) and always find that my bra bands, no matter how loose, leave red marks. I see that sometimes people associate this with a too tight band, but I can assure you that is NOT the case in my bands-I can fit a fist, sometimes two, between my band and my back and still breathe, and can wear them on the tightest hooks with no discomfort. Even when I thought I was a 32 and they rode waaaay up on my back, I got red marks. I need them to be snug for support, since my cups are usually a UK H or HH, and most of the time, the 28s are still a little loose, except on bras where the cups are too small. I'm just curious as to how many other people experience the marks even with looser bands, mainly because I wonder how many other people also have this sort of sensitivity.

I get red marks from all of my bras, even the now wayyy to large bands I'm too lazy to adjust. I always go by the rule that if they disappear after a couple of minutes everything is fine.
I have the same issue (and I think most people) with socks, they also leave red marks, but aren't too tight, they just leave them and then they disappear.
Suna I'm so glad I'm not the only one! (Not that I would wish skin sensitivity on anyone, it just is nice to know I'm not some freak of nature!) Mine usually disappear pretty quickly when I remove the bra, unless I'm very bloated/retaining water and/or they are very itchy, in which case I aggravate the skin by scratching too much, at which point it's a completely different type of mark.
I also have the issue with socks, which has become much worse since my hip surgery last year left me with lymphedema and my leg, particularly the ankle, swells about two inches by the end of the day.
I did read somewhere that people with sensitivity to latex (I am very sensitive to latex, a latex rash/hives can last two weeks or more!) sometimes are also somewhat sensitive to other elastic materials as well, and I am also sensitive to petroleum based products, which some synthetic fibers/elastics contain.
