Bra economics

Last night I published this post that has been sitting around for over a month.

It talks about the difference between goods (bras) and money, their properties and considerations on pricing so we don't create and inflated market.

PS: Can you recognize all the bills? :P

  • I get what you're trying to say, Jj. I agree we can't price bras here on Bratabase or other consumer forums as though they were NWT, current season items in a retail store. Mostly Bratabasers and the sellers at /r/braswap price their stuff realistically. Occasionally I'll see a listing that will make me cringe. Clearly some sellers are feeling the financial crunch of finding their correct size and/or bra fit and are desperately trying to keep the search going by pricing their items at full retail. I have a lot of sympathy for them. I feel lucky to have a relatively common full bust size and to have fairly easy breasts to fit. I complain in my reviews about bra buying and fitting challenges, but I only have to read some of the Bra Adventures to know how difficult it really can get.

  • The few bras that I've listed are priced a little less than the amount I thought of initially because the buyer will also need to pay for the shipping. I'd rather price them a little lower and not pay the shipping out of my own pocket (the total works out to that earlier amount anyway usually). Plus I know that even without having worn them more than a couple of short periods, some only for trying on purposes, they have to be priced accordingly. And by that I mean a lot less than current season new with tags bras.
