I don't know if it's weight gain or good bra wearing or what, but I seem to have way less of that 'contents shifting to the side' effect these days. I'm not too soft in the bosom tissue, but approaching 40 and having a bunch of ups and downs in weight did make my boobs pretty much flatten when I laid down.
Whether it's just psychological, better posture, whatever, I feel way less self conscious about my boobs and they seem way nicer. Probably psychological, which is fine by me.

My boobs have definitely changed since I started wearing more supportive bras, and I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining it! They've narrowed (making it even more difficult to find bras that fit me, argh) and are more forward pointing. The shape out of a bra has also improved. They're not self-supporting, but much less floppy than they were prior to being properly fitted. I feel more confident with my boobs nowadays, which in turn has boosted my self-esteem, improved my posture and I daresay even my life to some extent. Who cares if your boobs have physically shifted or not, as long as you feel that they're awesome and you're awesome, it's all good!
Mine have changed shape since wearing properly fitting bras, too. They're slimmer on the sides, under the arms, and fuller toward the center gore. They're less shallow, viewed from the side.
Nowvoyager, I don't think the changes are in your head. You are definitely not the first to see improved breast shape/texture/behavior after discovering good bra fit.
