Never ending search for a strapless
On a whim this morning, I tried on my old 32G - Curvy Kate » Thrill Me [showgirl Collection] (SG3001) with the straps off my shoulders. I knew this bra is too shallow and small in the cup, but it seemed to have potential as a not-awful strapless (since pickings are slim in the 32GG+ range). I went to work removing the lace and ruffle, took off the straps, and adjusted the elastic on the upper edge of the band in the back. The top edge barely covered my nipples so I pulled some light pink non-stretch lace out of my sewing stash. It's 2.5" wide with a scalloped edge. This was draped and pinned over the top edge to create more cup. I don't mind if my nipples show through a bra (like an unlined cleo) but I don't want them poking over the top edge. The pink lace is gorgeous with the peah bra, much more than the original plum trim was. I haven't finished resewing the elastic yet, or stitching on the lace, and I want to add some gripper tape to the inside of the band. Overall it looks like it'll be half decent, especially for a bra thrat was doomed to sit in the closet. I'll post pictures and more info when I've finished. I'm also going to try to get my hands on the new Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless/multiway Bra (CK2601) soon to try

What an industrious project! I don't think I'd have dared this.
As a 30GG, I wear the Fantasie Smoothing Strapless in a 30G with an extender (but would do much better in a 32G, I think). It runs half a cup large and about a band small. It's certainly nothing to write home about, but it does the job for the rare occasion I need a strapless. A lot of GG ladies can successfully sister size in some of the more popular strapless models to get into the G range, since so many strapless models run very snug in the band.
I haven't heard very good things about the CK strapless, but hopefully it'll work out for you.
This bra was just dying in the closet. I'd worn it half to death When it did fit so it wasn't like it was usable otherwise. And I've been sewing my own clothes for ages so it made sense to at least try.
As for the CK Luxe, mostly I just want to test it. get more data up on here for everyone else that it might work for. I've got an ok longline for when I NEED a strapless, but am really looking forward to when bra people figure out how to make a heavy-lifting, cleavage-giving, not super tall cup strapless for GG+ cups. And in pretty colors too.
