Pregnancy and bras...

Since getting pregnant I've gone from about 30DD to 30F. Learning this gave me a slight confidence boost, which caused me to buy tons of bras in my new size without really thinking. But now I'm getting worried that my breasts are going to shrink back down, and none of them are going to fit anymore. :(

From what I've been reading, it's pretty rare for breasts to stay the same size that they were during pregnancy. Now I feel stupid for spending this much money on bras that might be huge on me in less than a year.

Not only that, but I also just really like my new size! I've always been on the smaller side, so it's kind of nice having averageish-sized breasts for once. I know there's nothing wrong with small boobs (and I think they look quite nice on other people!), but I like mine how they are now....

And to make matters worse, I've been reading that sometimes breasts will become even smaller than they were before pregnancy. Which means that even the D/DD/E bras I bought before getting pregnant might be too big.

*sigh*

  • Don't worry girlfriend--unless you lose all the baby weight in a week and skip nursing altogether, those 30F bras are likely to be worn to shreds LONG before you have a chance to get back into the DD zone.

Additionally, as many or more people stay bigger than before conceiving, so there's no sense already fretting just in case you turn out to be one of those who are a little bit smaller than before. Considering how many slim women tend to fill out and stay fuller figured after childbearing in developed countries, I'd say statistics are on your side!

Warning, though, you may at some point find yourself wondering what you ever thought was so great about average or big boobs and longing for your former shape! It's happened to a bunch of my friends. One of them actually had a reduction after she was done having kids to get BACK to the "too small" chest she used to hate so much when we were in college. When she first gained a cup or two during pregnancy she was psyched, but it didn't stop there, and after a while she was like HOW DO PEOPLE LIVE WITH THESE THINGS!?? lol.

  • Hey, you're pregnant! If the most excessive behavior you exhibit during this time is buying bras that might not fit in a year, you're exercising moderation. In any case, everybody's bras might not fit well in a year. Such are the ways of boobs, right?

Some women's breasts end up larger with each pregnancy. You just never know.
