I finally took the plunge and went in to the only "fancy schmancy" lingerie store that I know of within an hour of my house. They're the ones where they don't measure you, no tape at all. Just take off your shirt, let me see you in your bra, what size are you wearing, and "I'll be right back with a few options" kind of place. Also WAY out of my price range kind of place. But since VS had always been "my kind of place" and I'm still trying to find out what my real size range is, I went there for a proper fitting and a sampling of some of their offerings. Sadly, they had nothing less than a 30. So my whole fitting went like this, "Let's see what fits and then we'll just write down how much we need to alter it for you." Ok, great. And alterations are free, so if I had $200 to spend on a bra that wasn't even my size then that would just be fabulous. But I don't. I do think I was able to at least get a little more info about my sizing even though I feel like I'll have to translate into another language or break the code to determine what it really means. I'm guessing that the bras she tried on me do not exist in my size (otherwise why wouldn't they just order them in my size instead of altering?) But maybe some of you have fit well into these bras and know how they translate into and compare with other bras that actually do come in my size and can point me in the right direction.
She wrote down 6 bras for me, and what needed to be done. Maybe you all can help, maybe not. But here goes:
1. Prima Donna Symphony Tulip 32F (take down 1 band size)
2. Lise Charmel Taj Mystery Demi 32E (take down 1 band size, shorten straps 1.5")
3. Prima Donna Coture Balconet Tulip all lace 32E (take down 1 band size)
4. Prima Donna Diamond Plunge 32F (take down 1 band size)
5. Audabe Fleur De Pommier 32F (take down 1.5 band size, shorten straps)
6. Empreiente Marlene Balconnet 30F (no alteration needed)
Obviously taking these band sizes down would make the technical cup size go up, but if these bras aren't made in those sizes then I'm hoping maybe you know of bras that are built and fit similarly that I could try in a less mortgage size price range.
I do have to note that some of them made me feel pretty small in my profile. I am guessing that is what you're all referring to when you say projection? Some of them just greatly minimized that even though they didn't feel compressing. So while they were beautiful and all, I'd rather not have my bra make me feel like I just had a breast reduction when I had an augmentation instead. I tried on so many that I'm having a hard time keeping them straight, but there were 2 that I tried that I actually liked the profile (projection?) and they were both Empreiente. We only wrote the one down because I initially ruled it out because of the lace on top. The bra fit perfectly but it has an overlay of lace, which is of course gorgeous, but that lace seemed to pucker just a tad and it made me self conscious. Which was really stupid because I could move the lace and see that the mesh fabric hugged me perfectly. Do they just do that? Is it just something that just is wrong for my breast shape? They both did it, and they were the only ones that I didn't feel like I had a boob reduction looking at my profile. Is there another bra that you're aware of that tends to shape you similarly? It felt more like that overall look was the actual shape of my breast without a bra on, but just with really pretty wrapping on it. But I don't want to have to feel self conscious if the loose lace is making me look like it's too small.
Sorry for the novel, I wish I had people that I knew in real life who knew anything about bras but I just don't.

I know someone on bratabase who can alter your bras for you. She is so good that she could make money doing it.
I bet she would charge you less than those bras cost. If you could find them at a better price instead of the (I'm freak in' rich!!!) store. LOL
Also, I think you and her wear the same size too. Or are close. :)
Good for trades when a bra is too small or too big, you girls could trade. She's really A+ at altering. I've had 2 of her bras come to me and they were perfect. I couldn't tell they were altered. One of them, I gave away to someone who is bigger than me and the other (30E - Alexis Smith ยป Satin Plunge), I kept because it fits me like a glove. The Alexis Smith was a 30E, but she changed the band to an 28 band.
I think the Prima Donna have a lot of projection, so that could be part of what you need. I dont know the other brand, and that Marlene doenst seem to be in this database. Because sometimes you can find a bra that fits you and find someone who reviewed it and then see what else fits her, kwim?
