[Rant] I feel like the odd woman out about Cleo and unlined bras.
Everyone on ABraThatFits gushes about the Cleo bras like they're made by God himself. They supposedly give you that coveted rounded shape, and beautifully lift. The Cleo Lucy/Lilly/Minnie/Moonie is supposed to be the answer to all problems of the boob! The light at the end of the poorly fitting just-discovered-my-new-size tunnel.
At least that's how it felt for me reading all of the glowing reviews and recommendations. Having a Cleo (hell, any unlined) seems to be some kind of ticket into the seasoned bravangelist club.
I need to finally get this off my chest.
I hate unlined, especially Cleo. I've never encountered a brand that is so consistently terrible for me. It seems like every Cleo I put on my body tries to slowly cut me, break through my skin and stab me through the ribs. Sizing up makes no difference. Adjusting makes no difference. Getting a different style make no difference. it's all just bad.
On top of the unbearable discomfort, I can't stand the way they make my breasts look. Somehow by the dark magic that is the unlined bra, my 34FF's lose 3 cup sizes and their perkiness. They just... deflate. I feel horrible about how they look under clothes. In fact, I never even got the chance to review my cleo lily because the minute I tried it on I turned right back around and returned it. I was honestly embarrassed to look in the mirror. I felt so frumpy and terrible about myself. This can basically be extended to all unlined bras.
Sorry for this rant, and no offense is meant obviously. I guess I just want to know if im not the only one who has the unpopular opinion? Is it because I've been brainwashed into liking my boobs in molded cups? It's just mindboggling to me how a bra that is so ubiquitous is so bad when it's on me. Furthermore, unlined bras are supposedly the go-to fit solution, yet are consistently the most uncomfortable, drab bras in my experience. Am I doing something wrong?

Don't feel bad about that!!!
Another thing that gets thrown around on /r/abrathatfits is "it's not you, it's the bra" and that is sooo important to remember!
So, Cleo's don't work for you. Meh. The Lily also made me look frumpy and gave me zero support. The Marcie clone and the Meg that I have both poke me for being too wide at the gore. Occasionally they pinch in weird spots. Although the Marcie/Meg work okay for me, they are not the best for me, and that's okay!
For a while I would specifically look for bras wehre the reviewers would mention a 'weird shape' because that's what seemed to work for me. I didn't feel weird in those bras, I loved them. I have changed shape and size enough that those bras no longer work, but still. I figured out I was (and still am) a boob outlier and have just accepted that. I'm still beautiful without a top and I'm sure you are too, unlined Cleo's just aren't perfect for us though. For me they are wearable, for you it sounds like not so much.
It's okay! We are all different! Just because you don't mesh with Cleo's doesn't make you less!!!
Same here. Cleos either stab me in the sternum with wires, cut my arms off with the straps or make my boobs look like duck faces.
