Not bra related: Nipples
So I've got an appointment for my yearly checkup in a couple weeks but figured I'd ask here too, since we're all about the boobs. My nipples are killing me. Specifically the left one, righry isn't as bad. I smacked my boob into a wall rounding a corner the other day and it felt like someone was trying to rip it off. I've had them pierced for 7 years now, healed perfectly, and they aren't infected. I've never had any problems with nipples before, if anything they were under sensitive. Anyone have any ideas what's up with them?

I know that with time, piercings can move south through your tissue (because gravity) and the wearer may not realize because the skin is pretty flexible and it just follows the piercing, so to speak--the jewelry is kind of gradually making its way through the flesh beneath the skin though. I had one friend whose nipple piercing actually traveled so far down that it eventually just dropped out of her body one day after a few years! So it's possible that your jewelry is now hitting a nerve, literally. You may need to take out your current set and have a piercing redone at a more comfortable height.
If it's not the piercings, you may be going through some hormonal changes, or you may have a skin infection (fungal or other) such as yeast or something else. Nipple skin is pigmented and not a smooth surface so sometimes it's not easy to notice visually, you just feel pain.
Youlovealive, that sounds horrible! I hope it gets resolved soon.
wendybien, I didn't know that about piercings. UGH.
