Better later than never…Right?
It is absolutely amazing I've been carrying my 30J/32HH (UK size) around for over 20 years and never came across any blogs or websites like this! All this time, I've been buying, sewing, squeezing, adjusting, covering up, celebrating every tiny victory, doing a little dance when my first bra fit (or so I thought, since it fit better than any other before).
Mistake #1: all bras I've been wearing up until very recently were WAY too big in the band
Mistake #2: sister-sizing by trial (a 38DDD - sure, why not! I'll just sew the band!) if the cup fit
Mistake #3: Gore-what's gore? Is it supposed to do anything?
Mistake #4: just keep pushing that boob, girl! Sure you'll be able to hide it in there somewhere! Who sees side spillage anyway???
Mistake #6: shape is the least of your worries, as long as it fits in there...
Mistake #6, #7…and so it went.
Oh, and you can FORGET about tops, blazers, dresses that will look good on you!
Even after I discovered Fantasie , Freya , Panache ,etc., I still couldn't figure out that each model will fit differently, each brand will use slightly different sizing, etc.
My first excellent fit - Freya Pollyanna Balcony Bra (5932) . First bra in 32H - and I thought I'd won the lottery! I kept buying all kinds of brands, sizes, colors, then hauling them - tags still on- off to Goodwill thinking to myself 'nobody will ever need those; I might be among 1,000 or less on the planet who have cups this large'.
Well, in the last 2 days, I spent about 24 hours reading all the comments. reviews, links to blogs, etc. on Bratabase. Yes, I did shovel snow a bit too (hubby out of the country), but the kids ate a lot of frozen waffles and cereal.
I also just bought another 4-5 bras in brands I've never heard of: Axami, Kris Line, etc; took my first ever pictures modeling various bras that I own (will post later); measured my cousin who stopped by and convinced her she needed a different bra size; and wrote this way too long post while still filled with excitement.
Thank you everyone for being such an amazing community, supportive of each other! I also look forward to trying some of the listed bras and selling a few of my own Fauves and Panaches. Most of all, I look forward to a shapelier, perkier, lovelier, slimming, etc. look that I hope to get out of this discovery.
(For the reference, I am 5'6", 138 lbs, 43"-29"-39").

Welcome!!!! Glad you found this site! Be on the look out for a few people that we call "Bra Pushers" they like to convince you to buy all the bras LOL
But in all seriousness you'll find this place is like a big booby family. We support each other when bands get loose and cups get to small.
Welcome :)
Make sure to add all of your bras to help others like you!
