Cracked article discussing a preventative double mastectomy
I found this really interesting to read. I don't know if it's something I could ever do myself, though, if I ever found out I carried this gene mutation.
5 Things I Learned Cutting My Boobs Off to Avoid Cancer
Some people know cancer is coming, thanks to a certain gene mutation they can get tested for. Rather than take this sitting down, Eden Dranger opted to have her boobs removed before they could make her sick.

I would do it in a heart beat, but my view may be a bit different than others I have had cancer once already and do not want to go down that route again. I also have implants already. Just means I have an excuse to get larger ones (When they become available)
I worry about how many insurance companies do not cover this - even for women who have gotten genetic testing that indicates they carry/have the mutation - and the increase in the number of women who have sought to have a preventative double mastectomy, whether it's directly correlated to celebrities who have encouraged it and/or done this themselves or not.
I'm not saying that this procedure is unnecessary, I want women to have the option as a choice. But knowing that insurance companies will only cover the expense when cancer has already been found bothers me.
