EM Rant

My frustration with EM is only growing. I feel like my experience with them is only getting worse and worse. I need to complain, so let me start from the beginning.
My first order was a few months ago, a PL Wrzos. While i had actually used other peoples experiences to determine my size, it technically followed the calculator suggestions. I had heard to take the underbust measurement super tight to get the most accurate calculator result and it came out to 70GG. The calculator also says +1 cup for full, projected breasts and +1 for firm bodied breasts. So thats +2 for me, 70HH! That bra was a mess. I was swimming it it! The band was huge (felt more like a 34, can't remember what it measured to), the cups were huge, and the straps did not adjust down nearly enough. So I sent an email to EM asking for advice on fit and what size i should order next time. I provided pictures and my measurements. Their response was basically this: of course it doesn't fit that is not what the calculator suggested for you. But actually it is. It followed exactly their rules. However, they said if i ordered in the correct cup size, the band and straps would fit much better. Their suggestion was 70GG like the calculator said or more likely 70H since i had "firm body". I truly do NOT believe that ordering just one size down would have solved the band or strap issues on the PL Wrzos. There's just no way. The bra was barely sitting against my body!
So i responded and requested to order PL Blekitna Rapsodia and S Kamea in a 65HH. They replied suggesting that i do not order a smaller band because it will only cause me issues with strap placement (lol gotta cover their behinds on that one i know ;)). I'm sorry but a band that loose could NEVER support my girls! I have a 27-28" underbust depending on the day and i do prefer a firm band. I tend to wear 30s (love my 65 Comexims) but i really love the feel of a 28! I am just too afraid to order one and it end up being crazy tight with all the band variance.
7 long and sad weeks later, i finally received these bras. No fault of EM there. That lovely mess was thanks to USPS! However, they were pretty disappointing. 65HH is apparently pretty small on me. The PL fits, but barely. And the S was definitely too small. I could definitely do a 65J in both. So why did that 70HH not fit?! THE BAND! It had to have been the band being so loose. But that's my size right?! UGH. So to make matters worse the bands on these bras are still huge. Even on the tightest hooks, the band still rises up across my back. They both measured 24" unstretched i believe and 32" stretched. Why?! Shouldn't a 70 measure about 32"? So realistically i should have just ordered the 70H like they suggested because that is pretty much what i got anyways. I just paid them extra for it lol.
So i wasn't going to bother emailing them. I hate confrontation and its not worthwhile. I am not really asking for anything from them. I just sort of want to know why they measure that and if that is what they consider a 65. If so, i clearly need to order a 60 next time. But i want to order from them again some day so the email needed to be sent. I tried to approach the situation really politely. I pretty much just asked what a 65 usually stretches to. I told them i had tried the 70 and it was huge so i ordered the 65 and its still huge. I said it measured to 32" when i was under the impression it should be more around 30".
Their response was that some bands are stretchier than others, like the PL Blekitna Rapsodia. She mentioned that i could always email and ask how a band behaves beforehand. Then she told me where i could sew it if the band really is too big on me. Okay well first of all, both bras unstretched and stretched measurements were exactly the same. I totally get that there is some variance in bands. Thats no big deal, i understand. But when its a special order size, shouldnt it be right?! And i paid them extra money to sew the bra as a 65HH instead of a 70H! But i still have to sew it now to fix it lol.
I don't want anything from them. I don't want my money back. I don't really care about the few dollars extra it cost to "custom order" my size (although that pisses me off too, see below). I just want an answer, is this normal for a 65 band and should i be ordering a 60 instead. Pretty sure i know the answer though. Unless they are suddenly making their bands bigger or something, i just don't understand. People usually have the opposite problem with the band being too small. I am sort of frustrated with EM. I just want a bra that actually fits and i feel like that is obviously too much to ask for of them.
Unrelated to my bras but related to EM ranting, how about that facebook post about having the largest size range in the world? From A-Z. Great that is awesome. But that is only focusing on one aspect, the cups. What about band sizes? I know you can get up to 100 (44?) at least without special ordering. So why do they still make us custom order 60 bands and 65 bands in the bigger cup sizes? I understand all the stuff that went down with strapgate and all. But its ridiculous. I don't know how you can claim the biggest size range but still make the 60s and 65s in larger cups custom orders. How is that fair? If you say you offer these sizes, just offer them all outright! I honestly don't understand. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Okay. Rant over. :)

  • Ugg, so sorry

  • Yeah they definitely exemplify all the drawbacks of dealing with a small business. You are probably much better off looking at Bratabase measurements than asking them about the dimensions of a given bra, as they do not seem to treat it as an exact science! I;m sorry you had to deal with all that.
