Hi, I'm new to Bratabase. Found it through /r/ABraThatFits/. I have yet to find a bra that works for me. I'm actually not even certain what size I should be wearing. Most bras that I have tried have been 38-40 in the band. 40 seems to be the most comfortable fit. I have a Panache Tango II in 40JJ that is painful to wear. The wires extend almost to my back. When sitting at my desk at work the wires actually extend past my armpit and poke outwards. I am not positive, but I would say that the wires are much too wide, the cups are much too shallow. The wire does not sit in the fold under my breast so I think that there is not enough fullness in the bottom of the cup for my breast tissue. The gore does not tack. I have never had a gore tack and until recently didn't know that they should. The gore floats out about 3 inches and sits on the breasts. The wires seem too tall and they poke outward at the center like I have a little creature trying to escape from my cleavage. I could live with all these little problems if they didn't hurt. But they do quite badly. I don't have discomfort at the band at the back. Where I feel discomfort is directly under the bust where the wire sits too low around my middle. If I push the wire up into the fold, the discomfort eases for a few. Another place is on the outside where I think my breast roots are, the wire does't turn up where I think they should and at that point where they extend backwards causes discomfort. And also when the wires turn outwards and jab my arms. No amount of adjustment helps here. I am still in the beginning of my perfect bra search. I'm still unsure of many things. I have tried:
Panache Jasmine 38K
Elomi Etta 40JJ
Curvy Kate Bardot 40JJ
Curvy Kate Princess 40J, 40JJ, 40K (wire width felt good on the 40J but not enough cup)
Curvy Kate Daily Boost 40K
Royce Charolette 40K

Curvy Kate just seems to be the wrong shape, no matter what, for me. Panache Jasmine in 38K was probably the closest.
I have a Gorgeous DD+ Black embroidered leaf non-padded DD-K cup bra and one in white on the way. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I am not very hopeful.

I have attempted to find comparisons on here for bras in the size range that I think I might be, but there are not very many postings that I can find. I had returned all of the above listed bras before I came to Bratabase or I would have posted those as well.

  • Welcome! I know that taking pictures of bras on myself for the site has helped me identify fit issues that I can't see in the mirror. Also, measuring each breast and finding a bra on here that has a cup depth that matches my actual breast size has been really helpful as a starting point. Good luck!

  • Though we have different sizes, I found that Jasmine worked decently for me for a bit (granted, only like 3 wears because the gore came up too high) and I was able to fit pretty well in many Cleo bras (Marcie, Lily, and Minnie). People usually suggest the Jasmine when you suspect you have even fullness - would you say that? If so, I would look for a Cleo Lily/Kira (same cut) because they're always recommended for even fullness. Like you, I also need a great deal of projection on the bottom because otherwise my boobs push the whole bra down and then the wires hurt because they're on my ribs, not on the fold. Cleo tends to be better than most for this, excepting Eastern Euro/Polish brands, though some of their designs tend to look like they stumbled out of a Claire's boutique LOL. I hope you find a bra that really fits well soon because when you get one, it's the best feeling in the world!
