Feb 28, 2013. Bra measurements
I just went through all my bras and re-measured them. Someone wrote an adventure about how people can measure using varying techniques and that results in very different results.
I´m happy to find out that there are now more detailed instructions for measuring your bra One thing that was not there was however the width of cups. It didn´t state if you should measure this starting from the inner sides of wires or outer. I had originally measured from the outer point of wires, and when I now re-measured using the inner ones, the measurements were about 1 cm shorter! So it makes a big difference. I rationalised that it is better to measure from inner point to inner point, because that is the space that the breast will be sitting in. I don´t know why I didn´t think about that initially... Silly me.
Maybe this thing is obvious for many, but it wasn´t for me!!

You are definitly not alone. I measured wrong in the beginning as well! Something else i don't think most people do is to really measure the fullest part of the cup for the depth, including stretching the elastic at the armhole... It does actually take some slight force to get the full depth on non-moulded bras when the elastic pulls the cup together. I was once given the advice to measure the depth with the cup over the knee to use the knee to really get all of the depth out and it does definitly work. :)
Guilty! I have been measuring the depth wrong. I'll try and remeasure everything...
