Feeling dwarfed

So I measure somewhere around a 28D/DD and have only recently been investigating full-bust lines (mostly Freya and Cleo so far, though I had a disastrous encounter with a 28D Curvy Kate). These bras technically fit better than the 30Bs I'd been squeezing into, but I can't help but feel that most 28Ds are just built for larger women than me. I'm a pretty slight person with a narrow frame (5'3" ~115) and am feeling really dwarfed by my new bras. Curvy Kate is the worst offender, but I still feel like the others brands are just built for women with a different body type than mine. I've been gravitating towards my 30Cs again because a) I don't have any squish in my upper body so they're comfortable and b) they don't feel/look like the awkwardly sized down version of a much larger bra.

Do other smaller women feel this way as well? Are there brands with 28 bands that don't feel/look like 'plus-size' lines? I'm sadly sized out of TLBC these days and am really hesitant to invest in more Panache/Cleo/Freyas (though I'm still tempted by Masquerade...).

  • sadly, I don't have any suggestions. but I'm totally in the same boat. it's a terrible feeling to think that we're just not right for the bras that are actually our size. i've been wearing my old VS 30Bs lately, even though they don't fit -- because, like you said, at least they don't look awkward. you suggested TLBC to me awhile ago and i've been hesitant with even trying them due to the narrow size range (and the price). if only they had D cups! i've also considered comexim, but i feel like custom ordering will be a disaster. can they really be any better for our size range than cleo/freya/etc. anyway? :( so sad.

  • I agree with this 100%! I have a very narrow frame and I find almost everything to be too wide in the wire. The one bra I had success with was Curvy Kate Roxie. With the plunge the wires were narrower and I could bend them in. For me the plunge styles are more comfortable because I can't stand a wide and tall gore. People all suggest the polish companies, but I'm very wary of custom ordering as well. Konrad might be an option for you! I'm sized out in the cups but they have a range of cute styles in a 28 band that you can get for a reasonable price new on Ebay. All of their stuff would be more similar to VS :)
