Understanding wire widths

So where are the wires supposed to end exactly? If you look at the curve of the side of my breast where it hangs naturally vs. where the wires leave marks, the wire marks are at least 1" behind the curve of the breast, depending on the bra. I've been led to believe that this means that my wires are too wide. But when in wearing the bra, there is no empty space at the sides near the wires. I think this is from me having migrated breast tissue that falls outside the main breast but still makes it into the cup, and because my boobs are really soft so they deform to fit the shape of the cup and get pushed out toward my armpits. So are too-wide wires doing more harm or good for me? Are there ever problems caused by too-wide wires?

  • I've wondered the same thing! That's why I try to focus on buying bras with side support-to push my boobs forward instead of allowing them to fill the cup any old way.

  • Try to feel where the breasttissue ends. This is where the wires are supposed to sit.

I took a look at the bras you entered, those are all pretty shallow and wide.

Have you ever tried bras with narrower wires? Like the Cleo Alexa in 32G/GG?
