Fits

Great fit but really uncomfortable! My breasts are narrow-rooted, short-rooted, slightly splayed, projected, and FoB. This bra fits my shape better than the 36FF - Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) . The Marcie had a lot of empty lace at the top that I couldn't fill out. That's not much of a problem with the Lucy; there's only a little extra space under the lace and mostly towards the center. I get a little bit of orange-in-a-glass wrinkling at the bottom, because I could use shorter and more projected cups. But that's very hard to find, and this is close enough to overlook. This bra lifts and brings my breasts front and center with a natural but not too pointy shape that makes me feel 10 years younger. It looks fabulous under clothes. The base peachy-pink color is nice but I'm not a fan of the bright orange embroidery. The gore tacks fully and feels firm but not too high. The wires are a good width and don't poke me under the arms at all. The straps are set awfully wide, like with many Cleos, but I can tolerate that. What I can't tolerate is the overall feeling of harshness when I wear this bra. The fabric is scratchy. The wires press the rough narrow seam at the bottom of the cup directly into my flesh. The bottom edge of the gore feels sharp, and the bottom edge of the band feels like it's pinching all around even with an extender. I wish I could stand to wear this bra because it fits well and looks good. But I just can't stand to wear it for more than a few minutes. A wash and soak in fabric softener didn't even help very much. I wish they made a bra with the same cut but softer fabric and smoother seams. Preferably with the straps not set so wide, too.

This bra is not owned any more

  • Sometimes things soften with washing? not sure if its worth the risk tho

  • I did wash it, and soaked in fabric softener. That helped a little with the scratchiness but the seams are still really rough.

  • I had a similar experience with the Cleo Juna: probably the best shape match and fit I have ever had in a bra, but so hellishly uncomfortable! :(

  • You could see if the fabric on the Kali is nicer to your skin? Or one of the other sister cut bras.

  • I found the Lucy intolerably itchy too, even though the Marcie and Lily don't bother me. It's unfortunate!! I've never tried the Kali.

  • I loved the shape of the Lucy, but I felt like it was trying to cut me in half. I even tried an extender and bending the wires, but it still gave me cuts where the underwire started to curve away from the gore.
