Empty space in bottom of cups in 2 very different bras...

FYI: I believe my boobs to be very wide set, but not extremely wide rooted, short, with average to a lot of (?) immediate projection at the bottom, and with some fulness on top. They are quite self supporting.

I am officially confused.

With my 32G - Freya » Marvel Side Panel Bra (1501) I have a problem with some empty space in the bottom of the cups. The wires sit a little (1 finger's width) below my IMF in the middle of my boob, but not at the sides. I did a fit request for this, and the general consensus was that the cups were too shallow for me.

So I got a more narrow and projected bra (32G - Cleo » Minnie Balconnet Bra (7431) ) that at first seemed to fit perfectly, so I thought problem solved. But alas, after a few wears the Minnie is doing the EXACT same thing; the wires slide down from my IMF about 1 finger's width in the middle. When I hoist them back up to my IMF, they just slide back down again. Scooping & swooping is not the answer, I tried doing it, I tried not doing it, the result is the same.

So what can be the cause of this issue?

It could be an orange in glass type thing, where my boobs are either too projected or wide rooted for the bras, but as one bra is very wide and a bit shallow (Freya), and the other is more narrow and projected (Minnie) you would expect at least one of them to stay in my IMF. Or could it be that I need even more immediate projection than the Minnie affords?

The bands are certainly not too tight. I tried wearing the bras with an extender, but the problem remains.

So that leaves me with some wild guesses:

Could it be a wire shape thing? What if the wires are too UU shaped for me, and my short boobs need more of a gently sloped wire? The wires of the Minnie are more U shaped than the Marvel wires, yet both give me the exact same amount of empty space at the bottom.

My torso is a bit tapered, could that cause the band to slide down? If so, how would I remedy that?

What would you suggest I tried next?

  • It could be that both bras are too shallow for you. Minnie is a more FoT style, so it may not have enough space in the bottom of the cup. As for the wire width, when you take Minnie off at the end of the day where are the red marks? If they're on your tissue, it is too narrow for you. You can try bending the wires wider and narrower to see if either changes the fit. If you think the band is too loose at the bottom, you can sew through the elastic on the bottom in a straight line. This will tighten that part of the band and reduce stretch. It could also be that you don't have a U shaped IMF. You can bend wires into a more nike swoosh shape (or any other shape you might have) if this is the case. Hopefully some of that helps!

  • Hm, maybe I should indeed try a style that is more FoB friendly instead. I think I'm more FoT or at least evenly full (I get a lot of FoT problems in other bras and I fill out the tops of the Minnie and Marcie quite well), but who knows, I might be wrong there? Maybe trying a Lucy could shed some light on this...

I have no red marks after wearing either bra, so I think the wires of are not too narrow or sitting on my boob. I just looked at my boob and my IMF is definitely not a U shape, so a gentler curve than the Minnie should be better for me. However, I think the Freya has that, but I still get the same problem (probably because that one is too shallow).

Bending out the wires of the Minnie would make that bra even shallower I suppose, so I guess that should not help (plus I quite like that it pushes my boobs forward a bit). It's weird that this is happening all of a sudden when this bra did fit so perfectly before.
