This refers to alterations. After having read the other posts I'm impressed that you all seem to know how to sew. If you are helpless in this department and have many high quality bras in perfect condition but the bands have stretched, would you trust your bras to anyone or are there people who specifically alter bras? I'm very sensitive to any irregular seeming and don't want uncomfortable lumps and bumps. I do not live in a city so I'm not sure what my options are. There is one seamstress in town who ruined a dress I brought in. What would you suggest?

  • If you can sew a straight long try hand sewing along the elastic. That will make the band less stretchy.

  • And there is the "no sewing"option of a RixieClip
http://www.rixieclip.com/ ! I do not have one, but people really like them. To me the advantage is you can move it from bra to bra, like an extender, and there are no bumpy alterations.
