When is it time to replace a bra?

I have been wearing correctly fitting bras for close to 2 years now. How do I know when its time to replace some of my older bras?

  • I was wondering that, too - some of mine already seem less supportive. but i figure they'll just start to look crappy - like any other clothes. or you'll just start to hate them.

  • I have yet to replace a bra for any other reason than it doesn't fit. If you take good care of them and wash them nicely, good bras seem to last forever. Plus I'm lazy and when you've got a good thing going, why switch it up?
    But if that day comes...
When you try them on, are they comfortable? Do you feel supported? Maybe less so than when the bra was new, but is it enough? Does the band ride up or is it still relatively level? Are the straps maxed out on their tightness? Are you being stabbed by a wire? Is the fabric wearing thin/pilling/are the stitches coming loose? If they are not in desperately bad condition, offer them up as a freebie here to help others find their size in that style.
    OR
Do you have some old bras in the back of a drawer that you just never wear anymore? Maybe they're a bad color for you, or you don't like the shape, or they've always been slightly uncomfortable in some way/shape/form. Those are the ones you should sell here for whatever you think they're worth now.
