Okay, so my newest adventure is in the world of bustiers for under my wedding dress. I have a hard enough time finding a regular bra that fits well and is comfortable, let alone a bustier (which also has to take into account my waist and even hips!). Ugh. I just tried on three bustiers and I hate them all. *sigh*

My shape does not lend itself well to anything one-piece (swimwear, dresses, etc), so I'm just getting frustrated. To add to the difficulty, my boobs have wide roots, so I need wide wires but not expansive cups (they aren't quite shallow, but pretty close). It seems all bustiers are designed with the idea that all women can squeeze their boobs inward and get them to stay there (instead, in my case, the wires sit on top of my boobs and I don't fill the cup). And, to top it all off, I still haven't adjusted (mentally) to being 30 lbs heavier, so this whole adventure is not doing good things for me in that arena either.

Right now, I want to cry. And not for good reasons (i.e. that I'm getting married, and my wedding is going to be fun, and my friends and family are awesome, etc).

  • Hi there, congrats on your wedding. I recently got a few of Ewa Bien Driada Corsets in my store and they sold out right away ( you would have to buy from the Ewa Bien directly or google a bit elsewhere) and these corsets are fairly wide in cup but not very projected: http://sklep.ewabien.com/Gorset%20Driada%20bia%C5%82a%20G311-373704.html

Does it *have* to be a bustier? Since there are a few options in your size range that can work : Ewa Michalak Mleczny Strapless (87) or Ewa Michalak Strapless \u015alubny (187) (EM's are pretty wide and non-projected in my 34E size), Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless/multiway Bra (CK2601) ... there is also the more tricky @Her Sexcellency (which I can tag for some reason o.O http://www.bratabase.com/browse/von-follies/her-sexcellency/

  • Aaaaaand if everything else fails then just go for a traditional corset. I think that those from Corsets Uk work pretty well, and can last generations since they are made with steel boning and sturdy, double woven cotton/silk.
