Curvy Kate new vs old cuts and sister-cut confusion.
So I think we all know CK changed up their fit a bit, beginning in SS2015 from what I understand, to be somewhat narrower and less shallow. CK has been a no-go for me until the Bardot (SS2015/AW2015) came out, which is currently my oldest and most-worn bra. But I couldn't pass up a discounted Jewel (AW2014/SS2015) on Amazon, because purple. Shockingly, it's narrow and projected enough for me. BTB has Dreamcatcher and Portia listed under "these have the same cut" in the Jewel page, and Madagascar (never tried) as Bardot's twin. From all I've heard about Dreamcatcher and the like - they're all shallow and wide, much like the Princess was on me. From my limited CK experience, Jewel is a much closer cut to Bardot than anything else, only more open on top, and Madagascar visually resembles Jewel's cut, not Bardot's.
So, do you think this is because Jewel, while older than Bardot, is still a newer bra for CK than Dreamcatcher? I used to consider Dreamcatcher to try, because it comes in nude, but I still don't think I'll go for it because I expect it to fit like an old CK bra. And to make things more confusing - is CK still producing Dreamcatcher? And if so, are they producing the new runs of it in the newer modified cut, or still using the old dimensions? And if so, if someone got hold of a Dreamcatcher, is it noted somewhere when it was produced? I can see how it would be misleading to list Jewel as a sister cut of Dreamcatcher when it measures and fits like my Bardot does. I'm glad I took a chance on it because it's freaking gorgeous, but I'm not convinced to take a chance on the sister-cuts listed for it. Any thoughts or other experiences like mine?

The dreamcatcher bra I tried was very wide, fairly projected, and FoT with a high Apex. It definitely looks like a different cut than Bardot. It runs atleast a cup size large. I had the Boysenberry/Frost colorway that was dirt cheap on Amazon
I don't trust the sister cuts listed here. I don't find them accurate. I have bardot and jewel in purple. To me they don't fit the exactly the same but they both have the narrower and deeper cuts of the new CK and they work for me. I tried the dreamcatcher and princess in the SS15 colors and they still fit like the old CK in my opinion. The were maybe a little less wide than older versions but cups were still not deep enough and not FOT friendly. I returned them. You are wise to stay away from dreamcatcher if old CK did not work for you. Did you try Arizona? It's the best bra ever!
