Sports Bra Question

I've found my happy place in Polish bras. So what do I do for a sports bra?

I hate Panache's hard wires, so I'm highly skeptical about the Panache Sport. I've read a few reviews of the Freya Active, and some Shock Absorbers. Can anyone tell me how these might compare to Polish bras?

Mostly I'm concerned about wires bruising my breast tissue at the gore, or digging into my ribs if it slides down from lack of projection. If the cups don't saw at my armpits, that would be a plus, but isn't something I expect.

My main activities, if it makes a difference, are yoga, running, biking, Zumba, and occasional hiking.

  • I haven't tried any others, but I can say that I find the Panache Sport to be surprisingly comfortable.
It's definitely lacking in the projection department but it's really heavy duty/well made and its wires are way more padded than their regular bras so I haven't found them to be an issue.
I've owned a few in a number of sizes and while the lack of immediate projection seems to be countered by how tall the cups are (noting that I also have really short roots), there isn't enough projection at the gore which isn't conducive for tacking on those with center fullness - it doesn't even tack on me when the cups are clearly too big. It does still separate which is really important to me because I hate uniboob and the sweat it brings. I also feel like the wings are pretty tall, but I suppose it's necessary for maximizing the support it gives.

As an aside, when I got my first one, my husband was seriously impressed with the lack of bounce. He always thought the standard pull-over-your-head S/M/L ones should be good enough, especially when layered (we shouldn't be forced to layer!!!). When he saw how legit the support was, he finally understood why I was so hyped to get a "real" sports bra. It's like boob armor :p

  • I also believe the non-wired panache sport has been well-reviewed here
