According to Debenhams latest findings, UK's average bra size has increased from 34C to 36D since the last time it's been calculated.

The cup size change make a lot of sense but they believe that the band size has gone up becuase of breast surgery.

"It is possible to tell who has had a helping hand from surgery, because the relationship between the women's back measurement and cup size is altered dramatically."

The main reason for this cup size increase is the better fitting education among women and more shops carring bigger sizes. Now that women learn that they had to wear a 34F instead of a 38DD, the bra range has increased.

In the past there was a lot of women stuffing themselves in B cups, being only a few who wore bigger cup sizes.

The red line is the ammount of women in that size, as the Blue line is the average.

As for now, they now know what their correct cup size is, so most of the women that incorrectly wore B cups now wear Cs or D cups.

And there are now women wearing G, H, J cups or larger.

Now, this is very important, the fact that the average has gone up, does not mean that you're more likely to run into bustier women more often, it could be the same ones wearing the correct cup size. Average does not mean more frequent ;) .
