Used to fit
This bra originally did not fit me when I tried it on a few days ago--I was all puffed up and that didn't translate well to trying on clothing. I am glad that I gave it a second chance because it fits nicely, if a little different shape than I am used to (it gives a slightly dished shape to my boobs, which is okay, but different from my preferred sloped/natural shape).
While the lace is no where near as nice and soft as in my Fantasie Elodie bra, this is strong and does not cut into my upper boob. The lace is a little scratchy, and I am hoping that goes away with more washings. The underwires are long, they do not hit high enough for them to cut into my underarms, but it does border on being too high in the middle of my chest. I do have to say that the straps are too widely set for me, but that is a regular problem I run into. I also wish that the straps were a little more padded, like in the Tango bra line. I like that the swirly embroidery does not show through clothing, even under clingy tops, and that the design is not flowery. I did have to remove the little swirly designs from the middle (it was falling off) and from the shoulders (showing through most clothes).
I had to re-sew some of the stitching where there was a factory defect (band stiching), but it was a 10 minute fix and fit the price tag on amazon of $20. I have a feeling that the construction overall is good, but not quite as good as the Fantasie Sharon. For instance, the fabric is not sewn very straight, and the seams are not clipped/hidden as nicely as in the Fantasie Bra
*Update* yet more of the band to restich that I missed before. I think that the thread/stitch they used was flawed, like a too-tight backer thread on the machine.*
I wish the underwires were a little more padded, but this is typical for most bras, and not bad at all for a typical bra. I also wish that it had actual side stays rather than just a plain seam. Along with that, a three hook design would be better on this design than the two hook closure.
I have a feeling that this bra is going to stretch quite a bit, which would be okay, since it fits nice and snug on the first hook now. I will see how it does for a travel bra since it is easy to quickly wash, and--even more importantly--quickly dry. Living in a desert means that is a great quality on my list of ideals and is why I don't often try for molded bras.
I think this will hold up fairly well if it doesn't stretch too much, especially for the price.
